WCIRB Submits Amendments to January 1, 2019 Regulatory Filing

Today, the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) submitted amendments to the changes proposed in the January 1, 2019 Regulatory Filing to the California Department of Insurance (CDI).

Based on employer feedback, the WCIRB is amending the proposed wording for Classifications 8873, Training or Adult Day Program Centers for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, 8876(1), Adult Day Health Care or Adult Day Program Centers, and 8876(2), Senior Day Programs or Activity Centers – N.O.C., to clarify the application of these proposed new classifications. In addition, the WCIRB submitted related amendments for consistency and a minor editorial change to Classification 8818, Newspaper Publishing or Printing – editing, designing, proofreading and photographic composing, to correct a cross-reference.

A public hearing on the matters contained in the WCIRB’s regulatory filing will be held on August 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM in the 22nd Floor Hearing Room at 45 Fremont Street, in San Francisco, California.

Once the Insurance Commissioner issues a Decision on the Filing, the WCIRB will post it and any related documents in the Filings and Plans section of the WCIRB website (wcirb.com).

Please note that this filing does not contain proposed changes to the advisory pure premium rates. The WCIRB will submit the January 1, 2019 Pure Premium Rate Filing by the end of the month.
