WCIRB Policyholder Ombudsman Offers Resources for Employers

The WCIRB Policyholder Ombudsman is available as a resource to employers to navigate the often complex California workers’ compensation system.

The WCIRB Policyholder Ombudsman assists employers with the following:

  • How to obtain, evaluate and understand workers’ comp insurance information pertaining to loss experience, claims, classification assignments, experience modifications and other factors that impact your policy premium  
  • Explain rules and decisions as well as the rights and options of all parties involved 
  • Act as an intermediary between the employer and its insurance company and/or the WCIRB by clarifying the issues and putting the employer in contact with the appropriate individuals to resolve the dispute 

Please note: The WCIRB Policyholder Ombudsman is not permitted to be an advocate for any of the parties involved nor does the Ombudsman have direct authority to implement changes.
